tickets are now available!

Comedy Hack Day brings together comedians and software developers in a weekend-long contest to build the most hilarious tech product imaginable. The CHD Finals, held May 17 at The New School, is a showcase of the very best creations from that weekend—complete with celebrity judges. (See below.)

What exactly are those creations? Well, here are some past CHD winners or runners up:

  • Well Deserved: A marketplace for excess privilege.
  • Shit Talk: A social network for people presently on the toilet.
  • Timesify: A way to cloak the garbage you read online in the appearance of the New York Times.
  • High Fyves: Lyft for high fives.

So come see the show and we promise you'll only regret one, single second of it—and that one second will just be a particularly painful sneeze.

What is comedy hack day?

It's comedians and developers coming together for two days of building digital lunacy. At the end of the second day every team showcases their coded comedic creation, and seven of them move on to the finals. For the finals, we bring in celebrity judges and fancier lighting, and turn it all into a staged show of choreographed product demos and off-the-cuff judge's Q&A.

To summarize more succinctly: It's comedy and technology smashed together and the rubble is fun to play around in. For more information visit the section of our site dedicated to this topic.

Aparna Nancherla

Aparna Nancherla has an intimidating name, but don’t be scared! She’s a joke entrepreneur who pedals in both writing and performance (AKA scribble-scrabble and jibber-jabber). In fact, she most recently wrote for and sometimes appeared on the late, great Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, on FX-then-FXX. @aparnapkin

Anil Dash

Our first-ever returning CHD judge! Anil judged the first-ever Comedy Hack Day, and almost equally impressive: he is a co-founder or board member for a metric crap-ton of great companies. @AnilDash
